Welcome to My Blog – Introducing Carrie Moore

I’m a Nebraska transplant with a hubby, three dogs and a day job that keeps me from reading, writing and crafting, but we all got bills to pay.  Except the pups, they’ve got it made.

I’m a Nebraska transplant with a hubby, three dogs and a day job that keeps me from reading, writing and crafting, but we all got bills to pay.  Except the pups, they’ve got it made.

So, I kind of suck at talking about myself, so of course I said I’d do a blog. I’m one of those writers that was never really good about keeping a diary growing up…or even as an adult.  Except in school, I was good about keeping a diary of deadlines and upcoming tournaments and events, (I was a speech nerd in high school and college) but that was a bit out of necessity so I probably shouldn’t count that.  I’m really aiming to keep up with this blog because I’m really trying to focus on my writing and getting my stories shared.  I’m hoping to post a couple to start with and then try to do about one a week, fingers crossed I’ll keep up with it.

I’m really excited and terrified to be taking this step, even though it’s not the first time I’ve tried this.

I’ll be completely honest with you, this is the third time I’ve created a website, I’ve tried querying two books to traditional publishers and POWER PLAY has actually been published for ten years.  Trying to be a writer in the world is hard and it’s been a helleva learning experience, that’s for sure.  I’m sharing all of this because there were plenty of times I thought “Oh, I can’t do this now because I’ve tried before and haven’t kept up with it.”

Which is total crap.

Just because you tried before doesn’t mean avenues are closed to you now, it just means you’ve gotten the chance to learn something about yourself.  I’ve been learning a lot and now I’m ready to give it another try.  I hope you’ll not only follow along but check out POWER PLAY and my other books and novellas as they come out, but also follow me on this blog as I try this author thing again, with less pantsing and a little more plotting.
